Qa'dir Avery Alverest, a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 7, 2020, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Qa'dir was found shot to death outside a house in the Hidden Valley neighborhood. The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. on Heatherbrook Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Qa'dir with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
