Martin Dexter Penny, a 29-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 1, 2020, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The incident occurred on the 1400 block of Beauty Avenue, where police responded to a shooting call around 10:43 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Penny suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to WakeMed hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
