Ely P. Grimes, a 47-year-old male from Stafford, NC, tragically died on January 17, 2021, after being shot multiple times at the Tuckahoe Motorcycle Club in Stafford County, Virginia. The incident occurred when George Batts, a 40-year-old man from North Carolina, opened fire on Grimes during an event at the club. Deputies who responded to the scene attempted to provide first aid to Grimes and apprehend Batts, but Batts refused to drop his handgun and pointed it at the deputies, who then shot him ...
