Jose Andres Gayton, a 27-year-old Hispanic male from Texas, tragically lost his life on March 19, 2021, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Colonial Drive, where Gayton was fatally shot. During the same incident, Riley Renee Johnson, a 26-year-old female from Roanoke Rapids, was also shot and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a trauma unit and listed in stable but critical condition.
