Christina Marie Hassell Bueno, a 33-year-old woman from Clayton, North Carolina, tragically passed away on May 9, 2021. Christina, who was of Caucasian ethnicity, was found dead in her home alongside her husband, Jaime Fernando Bueno, in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. The incident occurred on Mother's Day, and their 6-year-old son was present in the home at the time but was unharmed.
According to police reports, Christina had called 911 around 9:30 p.m.
on the night of her death, reporting a domestic dispute with her husband, who was armed with a gun. During the call, gunshots were heard, and the line was disconnected. When police arrived at the scene, they found both Christina and Jaime dead in their son's bedroom. Jaime, a 35-year-old member of the Army National Guard, had allegedly shot Christina multiple times before turning the gun on himself.
The couple had a history of domestic problems, and police had previously responded to a domestic-related call at their residence in 2019. Neighbors expressed shock and sadness upon hearing the news, describing the Buenos as a "wonderful family" and "good, religious people." Despite the outward appearance of a happy family, the underlying domestic issues ultimately led to this tragic event.
