Erskine Reginald Lawrence, a 50-year-old African American man from Severn, North Carolina, tragically died on June 14, 2021. Lawrence was found in the yard of his residence on Mills Street by members of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office. The medical examiner determined that he died from gunshot wounds to his abdomen. The circumstances surrounding his death have led to an ongoing investigation.
