Todd Laymond Brown, a 34-year-old African American male, tragically passed away on June 15, 2021, in Siler City, North Carolina. Todd was born on June 3, 1987, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to Robert Durham, Jr., and the late Miranda Spruiell. He was a self-made, hard-working businessman who was proud of his pressure washing and detailing business, Spruiell and Sons. Todd was a devoted father who loved his children and would always help those who were in need. He will be deeply missed by his children, family, and friends.
On June 15, 2021, officers responded to a home on East Sixth Street in Siler City after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Todd Laymond Brown, who lived in the home, had been shot. Despite emergency care efforts, Todd was declared dead at the scene. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was contacted to assist with the investigation. After numerous interviews and searches, as well as collaboration with the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office, the evidence collected during the investigation was submitted to a grand jury.
The grand jury returned indictments on three individuals for first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. On July 15, 2021, orders for arrest were served on Anthony Tyrone Seymore, 30, of Sanford; Arsenio Lawon Smith, 33, of Siler City; and Timothy Lashon Eubanks, 42, of Siler City. All three suspects were arrested and are currently held in the Chatham County Detention Center with no bond allowed. The investigation into Todd Laymond Brown's death continues as authorities work to bring justice to his family and loved ones.
