Jonathan Monte Flowers, an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 17, 2021, in Ramseur, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at the Town and Country Mobile Home Park on Highway 64 West. Jonathan was sitting in a car when he was shot and died at the scene. A 21-year-old woman, Tashara Nachelle Simmons, was also in the car and sustained injuries.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, but her condition was unknown at the time.
The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has been investigating the case, but no arrests have been made so far. Detectives are still searching for the person responsible for Jonathan's death. The authorities have urged anyone with information to contact 911 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous. A reward of $5,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
Jonathan's death has left his family and community in mourning. He is survived by his mother, Shanta' Monique Little, his father, Jonathan Flowers, and his siblings, Dakota' Little and Azaria'h Bowden. The family held a funeral service for Jonathan on June 25, 2021, at Sidney Grove Church of Deliverance in Ellerbe, NC.
