Matthew Edward Simmons Sr., a 54-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 21, 2021, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on October 23, 1966, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Matthew was the son of the late George and Hazeline Simmons. He was employed by the Oliver Paving Company in Charlotte for over 30 years and was known for his love of family and cars. Matthew leaves behind his son, Matthew Jr., his long-time companion Sheila Green, and several other family members.
