Jonathan Ray Wright, a 35-year-old male from Pinnacle, North Carolina, tragically passed away on December 19, 2021. He was born on March 28, 1986, in Forsyth County to Colon Everett Wright and Lynn Bowman Wright. Jonathan was a graduate of the Class of 2004 at East Surry High School and was known for his love of hunting and fishing. He was an Eagle Scout of Shoals Troop 561 and enjoyed volunteering at summer handicap camps.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Lynn Bowman Wright, and several other family members.
On the early morning of December 19, 2021, Jonathan Ray Wright was found shot and killed on Bethania-Rural Hall Road in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Winston-Salem Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 1:47 a.m. and discovered Jonathan in need of help. Despite the efforts of Forsyth County Emergency Medical Services, Jonathan was pronounced dead at the scene. The Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation, but no suspects were being sought at the time.
The investigation into Jonathan Ray Wright's death is ongoing, and the Winston-Salem Police Department continues to search for answers. As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects identified in connection with his murder. The community remains hopeful that justice will be served for Jonathan and his family.
