Ervin Junior Ripley, a 51-year-old male from Clarkton, North Carolina, tragically died on December 31, 2021. He was fatally shot in the head during a New Year's Eve incident at his residence on Mercer-Mill Road. The incident also left Debra Purdie, 53, with a gunshot wound to the hand. According to initial investigations, a witness identified William James Purdie, 37, as the shooter. William Purdie was believed to have fled the scene in a Honda.
