Trina Robinson, a 48-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on January 15, 2022, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Landfall Shopping Center, where she was fatally shot along with her 65-year-old mother, Diretta Marie Robinson, and her 13-year-old nephew. The suspect, Wilbert Lamont Robinson, who is Trina's 40-year-old brother, was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
The Wilmington Police Department responded to emergency calls about shots fired at approximately 4 p.m. on the day of the incident. Wilbert Lamont Robinson, who had also shot himself, was found injured at the scene and was transported to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment before being charged.
The motive behind the tragic incident remains unclear.
