Anthony Washington, a 36-year-old male from Detroit, Michigan, passed away on July 3, 2016. Born on February 4, 1980, to Michelle Washington-Thomas and Robert Washington, he was a lifelong resident of the city and received his education within the Detroit Public School System. He was a man who found love and family, marrying La'Donia Ja'Nelle Perry on September 27, 2003, a woman he affectionately called his 'Fancy Face.' Together, they had a daughter named Jordynn, and a previous relationship had also blessed him with a daughter named Jadai Washington-Johnson.

A passion for the culinary arts led him to study at The Art Institute, a move that enhanced his natural talents in the kitchen. This passion translated into a professional endeavor when he and his partner, Chef Bear, launched Dacodest Soulfood Catering Service. His love for his community extended beyond food; he was deeply involved in coaching Little League football, first with the Eastside Bengals and later with the Michigan Bulldogs, which became a significant source of joy and purpose in his life. He was known for his leadership and mentorship, often becoming a big brother, godfather, or uncle figure to many young people he encountered.

In the months leading up to his death, his life took on a spiritual dimension. On May 20, 2016, in the company of his godbrothers, he embraced religion. His obituary notes that he 'saw medical miracles and witnessed God's healing power' in the time that followed. On Sunday, July 3, 2016, his life came to an end. Online sources do not indicate that his death was the result of a homicide and provide no information regarding any arrests or suspects in connection with his passing.
