In the early morning hours of June 6, 2016, the quiet of a Detroit neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire, leaving three young men dead in what police described as a targeted attack. Among the victims was 15-year-old Jaden Dorris. The shooting occurred at a residence on Brace Street on the city's west side, a location known to law enforcement as a site for drug activity and the subject of recent police raids.
