On a summer evening in Detroit, what should have been a time of family remembrance turned into a tragedy that remains unsolved. Elizabeth Williams, a 49-year-old woman, was fatally shot on August 4, 2016. A native of Detroit, she had relocated to North Carolina but returned to her hometown to attend a family funeral. The vibrant mother of five and grandmother to sixteen was known as the life of any room she entered, a woman who loved to dance and sing.
