In the spring of 2014, a domestic dispute in Houma, Louisiana, tragically escalated, ending the life of a young mother. Barbara D. 'Birdie' Baker, a 22-year-old female, was killed on March 28, 2014, in a violent confrontation that unfolded into a hostage situation. The incident led to the arrest of her boyfriend, 22-year-old Skylar Hayes.
