On a spring day in New Orleans, 38-year-old Racquel Gillard, a female, lost her life in a burst of violence. On April 14, 2014, in the Central City neighborhood, she was shot multiple times in the 2300 block of Josephine Street. The man who pulled the trigger was 17-year-old Johntrell Washington, who incorrectly believed Gillard had taken something from him. Witnesses reported that Washington confronted her, shooting her twice. After she collapsed, he stood over her and fired several more rounds ...
