In the early morning hours of December 28, 2014, the community of Violet, Louisiana, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of 27-year-old Broderick Parker. A male victim, Parker was fatally shot around 6:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Licciardi Lane. This incident marked the first homicide in St. Bernard Parish in over a year, sending ripples of concern through the area.
