In the summer of 2015, a violent act shattered the quiet of a Denham Springs neighborhood and left a family grieving. On the evening of July 18th, 29-year-old Brandon Pernell 'Jay' Jones, an African American man, was shot and killed on Summers Street. The attack was brutal and swift, with Jones sustaining three gunshot wounds at close range from a. 40-caliber pistol.
