On January 19, 2014, Lamar Broussard, age 19, was tragically shot and killed in Oakland, California. The incident occurred in broad daylight at the intersection of 100th and Longfellow Avenues. Broussard and his childhood friend, Derryck Harris, were in Broussard's car, intending to drive to a local store when they were ambushed by unknown assailants. Both young men were killed in the hail of gunfire, and the attackers managed to flee the scene without being identified.
