Derryck Harris, a 19-year-old from Oakland, California, was tragically shot and killed on January 19, 2014, in an ambush that also took the life of his childhood friend, Lamar Broussard. The two were driving together near the intersection of 100th Avenue and Longfellow Avenue when unknown assailants opened fire on their vehicle in broad daylight. Despite the public nature of the attack, which occurred around 2:15 p.m., no witnesses have come forward to identify the suspects.
