Clemente Curiel, an 84-year-old resident of San Lorenzo, California, was the victim of a brutal beating that occurred in Oakland on July 10, 2012. Curiel, a retired baker, was attacked and left to die in East Oakland. Despite his age and vulnerability, he was subjected to extreme violence, which ultimately caused his death. The incident shocked the community due to its brutality and the fact that it targeted an elderly man.
