In the summer of 2016, a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in the quiet community of Thibodaux, Louisiana, forever marking the memory of 5-year-old Abigail Grace Creamer. The young girl, a student at St. Charles Elementary, was known for her vibrant personality and love for life's small adventures, like trips to the zoo and the movies. Those who knew her said she had a personality that everyone instantly fell in love with.
A native of Houma, Louisiana, she was a resident of Thibodaux at the time of her death.
On Sunday, July 31, 2016, the life of this bright-eyed little girl was tragically cut short. Authorities with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office were called to a residence in the 900 block of Burma Road after Abigail's father, Charles Edward Creamer, Jr., made a devastating discovery. Upon arriving home just before noon, he found both his daughter, Abigail, and her 26-year-old mother, Nakesha Lynn Carrere, deceased inside.
The investigation that followed pointed to a grim conclusion. Both Abigail and her mother had sustained single gunshot wounds. The evidence collected at the scene led detectives to believe that the incident was a murder-suicide. It was determined that Nakesha Carrere shot her young daughter before turning the gun on herself.
In the wake of this devastating event, the community mourned the loss of a child described as being full of life. Abigail was survived by her father, grandparents, and numerous other relatives who would forever cherish the memory of the little girl whose life was so abruptly and tragically ended.
