Jasmaine Anderson, a 14-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on July 14, 2017, in Westwego, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Jasmaine's 15-year-old brother, Jermaine Anderson, accidentally discharged a handgun inside her bedroom. The bullet struck Jasmaine in the head, and despite being rushed to University Medical Center in New Orleans, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
