In the early morning hours of July 16, 2017, the community of Church Point, Louisiana, was rocked by a sudden act of violence that claimed the life of 33-year-old Alex Babineaux. A male resident of the town, Babineaux was walking along North Wilson Street when he became the target of a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 5:42 a.m., shattering the quiet of the Sunday morning.
