In the early hours of Christmas morning, a sense of festive cheer was tragically shattered in the parking lot of the Eden Apartments in Bastrop, Louisiana. On Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at approximately 3:30 a.m., 39-year-old Shawanda Robinson was shot once in the chest with a small-caliber weapon. She succumbed to her injuries shortly after the incident.
The Bastrop Police Department began an investigation into what they determined to be a homicide.
Their efforts soon led to the identification and arrest of three initial suspects. Authorities stated that the shooting was an act of retaliation stemming from an earlier altercation. The individuals taken into custody were charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy. The three suspects were identified as Tiffany Coleman, Anthony Walker, and Marques Etheridge.
As the investigation continued, a fourth suspect was identified and apprehended. With the assistance of the Freeport and Rockford, Illinois Police Departments, the Bastrop Police Department located and arrested Segonia Bradley. Bradley also faced felony warrants for second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in connection with the death of Shawanda Robinson. While authorities have not publicly disclosed who they believe fired the fatal shot, the investigation remained ongoing, with the possibility of more arrests.
