On March 9, 2019, the body of Timmy Daniels, an 18-year-old African American male, was discovered by fishermen in a brush pile near the bank of the Amite River in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office took charge of the investigation. The body was located downriver of a bridge near the address of 131 Highway 37 in Clinton, Louisiana, and investigators believed this was where Daniels was put into the river.
