In the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, on October 26, 2021, the life of 33-year-old Darius Deshawn Stokes Sr. was tragically cut short. The shooting occurred at the corner of Lamarqus and Verette streets, a violent end to a life that was deeply connected to the community. Stokes was a father to four children: De'Ashia, De'Arius, Darius Jr., and Chaniece. His obituary paints a picture of a man surrounded by a large and loving family, including his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.
