Darius Deshawn Stokes Sr., a 33-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on October 26, 2021, in Algiers, Louisiana. Stokes was fatally shot on the corner of Lamarqus and Verette streets. His death was ruled a homicide, and the incident has been under investigation by local authorities.
