Kevin James Chargois, a 53-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 19, 2021, in Maurice, Louisiana. The incident marked the first homicide in Maurice since the 1950s. Kevin was shot by his third cousin, Robert St. Julien, during a disturbance on Chargois Street. The Maurice Police Chief, Guy Nerren, received a call from St. Julien reporting the disturbance and requesting immediate assistance.
