On Monday, December 8, 2008, at about 6:35 PM, officers from District B-3 responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 120 Southern Avenue in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 19-year-old David Gaskins of Boston, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 343-4470.
