In a quiet home on Acadiana Avenue in Denham Springs, Louisiana, the life of 73-year-old Patricia Blue, a White female, came to a tragic end on the evening of Monday, November 21, 2022. Investigators believe that Blue was the victim of a murder-suicide, shot and killed by a man described as a longtime acquaintance.
Earlier in the day, an argument had reportedly occurred between Blue and 74-year-old Carl Altazin.
Later that night, their bodies were discovered at the residence at approximately 10 p.m. The investigation concluded that Altazin fatally shot Blue before turning the gun on himself.
Known affectionately as "Maw-maw Pat," Patricia Blue was remembered as a bright light to her family and friends. A retiree from the East Baton Rouge school board where she worked for 30 years, she found her greatest joy in her family, especially her daughter and two grandsons. Her passing left a void in the lives of her loved ones, who cherished her love for shopping, having a good time, and her beloved fur babies. A cremation was held, and private family services were planned to honor her memory.
