Arvella Louise Thomas, a 14-year-old African American girl, was tragically murdered on April 11, 1978, in Skokie, Illinois. Arvella was last seen around 11 p.m. at the Morse Avenue elevated train stop in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, where she was asking passersby for CTA fare to get home. Her body was discovered the next morning in Skokie, marking the beginning of a harrowing investigation into her untimely death.
