In the early hours of Halloween in 2010, the life of Orvin Blanding, a 40-year-old African-American man from Boston, was tragically cut short. Responding to a call about a person down just after midnight, Boston police officers made a grim discovery in the city's Roxbury neighborhood. They found Blanding at the rear of 1150 Harrison Ave, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center, but his injury proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
