In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 17, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet near the intersection of Nightingale and Wales Streets in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. When the violence ceased, three men in their 20s had been shot. One of them, a 23-year-old African-American man named Phillip Woods, was pronounced dead at the scene.
