In the early hours of Sunday, November 7, 2010, the life of 17-year-old Emuel Loissaint, an African-American male, was tragically cut short on Mascot Street in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. At approximately 12:55 a.m., Boston police officers from Area B-3 responded to a call for shots fired. Upon their arrival at 64 Mascot Street, they discovered Loissaint suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but sadly, was pronounced dead.
The investigation into Loissaint's death took a strange turn two days later. On Tuesday, November 9, police were called back to Mascot Street, this time to the driveway of the house directly across the street, number 63. There, they discovered the body of 19-year-old Nervin Charlot. Initially, there were no obvious signs of trauma on Charlot's body, but an autopsy later revealed he too had died from a gunshot wound. Investigators came to believe that both Loissaint and Charlot were victims of the same incident, and a probe was launched into why Charlot's body had gone undiscovered for over 48 hours.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit took charge of the investigation into the deaths of both young men. They appealed to the public for any information that could help them piece together the events of that fatal November night. Despite the ongoing investigation and the public appeals for information, there have been no reports of any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with the murder of Emuel Loissaint. The case, along with the connected death of Nervin Charlot, remains an open and unresolved homicide. The circumstances surrounding what led to the shooting on Mascot Street that night, and who was responsible for the deaths of the two teenagers, have not been brought to light in the years that have followed.
