Do you know who murdered Jorge? On the evening of March 14, 2011, Jorge Luis Tavares, an 18-year-old African-American / Black male, was fatally shot on the porch of his mother's home in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The shooting occurred at approximately 10:47 p.m. at 19 Groom Street, near Uphams Corner. Responding officers discovered Tavares suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
