On February 5, 2001, William Allen Garcia, a 44-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically killed in a mass shooting at the Navistar International Corp. diesel engine plant in Melrose Park, Illinois. The perpetrator, William Daniel Baker, a 66-year-old former employee of the plant, entered the facility armed with multiple weapons, including an SKS rifle concealed in a golf bag.
