Louis "Nap" Lockett, a 73-year-old African American man, died on July 16, 2010, in East St. Louis, Illinois. His death was the result of a gunshot wound to the chest. The incident occurred during a domestic dispute with his wife, Josephine Lockett. According to reports, Josephine claimed that she intended only to hit Louis on the head with the gun, but it accidentally discharged, resulting in his death.
