In the late summer of 2011, the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston was struck by a wave of violence that claimed the life of 32-year-old Omar Edwards, an African-American male. On the evening of August 26th, Edwards was fatally shot at 18 Hosmer Street, a tragic event that contributed to the city's increasing homicide rate for the year.
