On the evening of October 3, 2011, 23-year-old Paula Jacobs was shot and killed in Roxbury, Massachusetts, while visiting her grandmother at the Orchard Gardens Housing Development. The attack occurred in the courtyard behind 39 Dearborn Street, where Paula was standing with friends when two gunmen opened fire, unleashing a hail of bullets. One of the shots struck Paula, and despite immediate efforts to save her, she passed away six days later at Boston Medical Center.
