Michael Polo Patton, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on June 30, 2014, in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when Michael and his 15-year-old brother were talking to individuals in a van. Suddenly, someone inside the vehicle opened fire, striking Michael in the chest and his brother in the arm.
