John Craig Early, a 60-year-old white male from White Hall, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Born on February 26, 1954, in Jacksonville, Illinois, he was the son of John T. and Betty Nance Early. He is survived by his mother, Betty Early of White Hall; a sister, Cathy Kline of Makanda; a brother, Doug Early of White Hall; his companion, Debbie Newingham of White Hall; three nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Early.
Craig, as he was known, had a deep passion for farming and the outdoors. He farmed for his father and later for Westnedge Farms. An excellent mechanic, he loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and took pride in maintaining an immaculate home and garden. He was a member of the White Hall First Christian Church.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall, with burial at White Hall Cemetery. Visitation took place prior to the service. Memorials were suggested to be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
