Marrecus Garrett, a 34-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 10, 2014, in the Marquette Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Garrett was sitting in a parked vehicle around 8:45 a.m. when another vehicle approached, and someone opened fire, striking him multiple times. Despite being rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he succumbed to his injuries on December 23, 2014.
