Derrance G. Taylor, a 34-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 14, 2017, in Alton, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 4:13 a.m., when multiple gunshots were heard by Alton police officers who were on foot patrol in the area. They quickly responded to the scene and found Derrance Taylor lying face down in the 900 block of Union Street. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
