Lamanta Reese, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on May 23, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. Reese was shot multiple times on a porch in the Englewood neighborhood, a location known for its high levels of gang activity. The incident occurred when Quinton Gates, an 18-year-old self-admitted member of the Mac Block faction of the Black Disciples street gang, approached Reese and opened fire.
