Kia Johnson, a 30-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on June 5, 2017, in Joliet, Illinois. The incident occurred in her Evergreen Terrace apartment, where she was found with a bullet wound to her head. Her boyfriend, Jasper Johnson, was present at the scene and admitted to accidentally shooting her. He was immediately arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.
