On November 24, 2017, Daniel Nash, a 23-year-old resident of Fairview Heights, Illinois, was fatally shot in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The incident occurred around 5:05 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Ridgeway Avenue. According to authorities, an unidentified individual approached Nash, fired shots, and fled the scene on foot. Nash sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately 25 minutes
