Aliyah Monique Salazar, a 17-year-old female from Joliet, Illinois, tragically lost her life on December 31, 2017, due to gun violence. Aliyah, who was of Hispanic descent, was fatally shot while sitting in the backseat of a car with friends in a notoriously dangerous area known as "The Hill" in Joliet.
