On a cold winter day in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, February 17, 2007, the life of George Baskerville, a 28-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. In the 3700 block of Oakmont Avenue, Baskerville was shot and killed, becoming another victim of the city's ongoing violence. His death was recorded as the 35th homicide in Baltimore that year, a grim statistic in a month where every one of the city's 17 murder victims was a Black male.
