Eddie Appleton, a 42-year-old African American man from Robbins, Illinois, was tragically shot to death on the night of October 11, 2018. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 13400 block of Ridgeway Avenue. Appleton was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was later pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide.
